August 20, 2026 — Motor nameplate inputs, 80% wire, VFD placeholder
Path:
Motor wire — 80% of breaker
- Bug: FLA 12 → MCA/MOP 15 recommended #14 AWG (
lookupWireCu(mca, mop) allowed #14 maxOcpd 15).
- Fix:
wireForContinuousBreaker sizes at breaker ÷ 0.8 (same as Power). 15 A → #12.
- Compressor, fan, and defrost use the same helper so 15 A never recommends #14 on those steps either.
Nameplate FLA / RLA / MCA / MOP
- MCA and MOP are inputs, not outputs. Enter any of FLA, RLA, MCA, or MOP.
- FLA and RLA are aliases (same running amps). Last typed values stay; the rest fill live.
- MOP only → wire from that breaker; do not invent FLA.
- Dropped duplicate Max breaker output.
Phase and capacitors
- Motor phase select (single / three). Capacitor µF is single-phase only.
- Three-phase hides the capacitor block (engineered; not field start/run).
VFD / Starters placeholder
- New step after Motor (
#vfd): VFD troubleshooting, 3φ capacitors, motor starters. No calculator yet.
