Privacy Policy

This policy is for the HVAC Lens app and website at hvaclens.ca (including the Android app). It is the policy Google Play should link.

What we collect

• Account: email address and password hash (Supabase Auth).
• License: license key, whether the license is free or paid, Stripe checkout session id for paid licenses.
• Devices: a server-issued device token hash, a device label (browser/OS), and last-seen time — so the 10-device limit can be enforced.
• Cookies: HttpOnly auth cookies and a short-lived signed license cookie after a successful unlock. Optional “remember this device.” Theme preference in local storage.
• Optional logs: diagnostic reports you choose to save (refrigerant/session notes).
• Payments: There is no paid checkout during this beta. After beta, Stripe will process the $19.99 CAD one-time purchase. We receive payment status and the email on the checkout session. We do not store full card numbers.

We do not collect contacts, precise GPS, photos, or microphone audio.

Why

To issue and recover your license, sign you in, limit devices, take payment, and improve tools when you send a diagnostic log or bug report.

Who processes data

• Supabase — accounts and license records.
• Stripe — payment.
• Netlify — hosting, edge cookies, optional bug-report email.

We do not sell your personal information.

Retention

License and account records are kept while the license is active and as needed for support and fraud prevention. You may ask us to delete your account and license records by emailing from the address on the license. Payment records Stripe keeps are subject to Stripe’s policy.

Your choices

• Remove the license from a device in Settings (clears local unlock and the license cookie on that device).
• Request deletion or a device-slot reset at the email above.
• Decline “remember this device” so the login cookie is session-only.

Children

HVAC Lens is for trade professionals. It is not directed at children under 13.
