This policy covers the HVAC Lens app and website at hvaclens.ca, including the installable app and the Android app.
HVAC Lens is operated by Peter G, a sole proprietor operating as Peter's HVAC Advisory, Calgary, Alberta. Peter G is responsible for privacy and is the privacy contact: peter@petershvac.ca.
We do not collect contacts, precise GPS, photos, or microphone audio.
To sign the account in, keep up to 3 sessions, and open the installed app offline for 30 days, take payment once paid plans start, fix problems, and improve the tools when you send a diagnostic log or bug report. We only use your information for these purposes.
By creating an account you consent to this use. You may withdraw consent at any time by deleting your account, though some features need certain information to work.
We use these providers to run HVAC Lens:
Some of these providers store or process data outside Canada, including in the United States. While it is there, it is subject to the laws of that country and may be accessed by its courts or authorities. We do not sell your personal information.
Do not include customer names, addresses or other personal details of other people in saved notes or bug reports.
We send account and service emails, such as sign-in and licence messages. We will not send marketing email without your consent, and every marketing email will have an unsubscribe link.
Passwords are stored only as hashes, connections use encryption (HTTPS), and access to records is limited to the operator. If a breach creates a real risk of significant harm, we will notify affected users and the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada as required by law.
Account and licence records are kept while your account is active. When you ask for deletion, we delete your account within 30 days, except records we must keep by law, such as payment and tax records. Accounts with no sign-in for 24 months may be deleted after an email notice. Stripe keeps its own payment records under Stripe's policy.
You may ask to see the personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Email peter@petershvac.ca from your account email. We will respond within 30 days.
If you have a concern, contact us first. You may also contact the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada or the Office of the Information and Privacy Commissioner of Alberta.
HVAC Lens is for trade professionals and students aged 18 or older. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18.
We may update this policy. We will post the new date here and, for important changes, notify users by email or an on-site notice.
