HVAC Lens is a field-tool app (website, installable PWA, and Android Trusted Web Activity) operated by Peter G, a sole proprietor operating as Peter's HVAC Advisory, Calgary, Alberta ("we", "us"). Contact: peter@petershvac.ca. These terms apply to HVAC Lens only.
By creating an account, getting beta access, or using the app, you agree to these terms and the Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the app.
HVAC Lens is for qualified HVAC and refrigeration professionals and students of the trade. You must be at least 18, or the age of majority where you live. You use the app for your work, not as a consumer service.
A limited number of free beta spots are issued first-come, first-served. There is no paid purchase during beta. After beta, new users will pay CAD $12.99/month on terms we will publish before any charge is made. Beta accounts stay free for as long as we offer HVAC Lens. We may change, suspend or discontinue any part of the app at any time.
An account may be signed in on up to 3 browsers at once. A fourth sign-in ends the oldest session. That browser is asked to sign in the next time it is online. Sign out in Settings ends only this browser. The installed app opens offline for 30 days after the last successful online check.
Do not share your password.
The refrigeration calculators, psychrometric tools, electrical references and technical data are field-reference and educational aids only. They are not engineering advice or a design service.

The Electrical calculators — including Ohm’s Law, power conversion, voltage-drop estimates, MCA/MOP suggestions, and any displayed wire size — are field-reference and educational aids only. They are not professional engineering advice, not a design service, and not a substitute for the current Canadian Electrical Code (CEC / CSA C22.1), the National Electrical Code (NEC), IEC or other local regulations, manufacturer instructions, sealed drawings, or a permit.
Final conductor selection, overcurrent-device selection, and installation design must be performed by a person licensed to do that work — a licensed electrician and/or a professional engineer — as required by the applicable statute, regulation, and authority having jurisdiction (AHJ).
These tools use simplified tables and assumptions. They do not implement the full CEC (or equivalent). Results must be independently verified against the current Code, the equipment nameplate, and the AHJ before any material is ordered or installed.
Do not share credentials, bypass account or session limits, use the app for illegal or unsafe work, interfere with the service, or scrape large amounts of data.

You may not copy, modify, distribute or resell any part of it without written permission. Third-party components such as CoolProp (MIT licence) remain under their own licences, and third-party data remains subject to its owners' terms.
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, THE APP IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE", WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND. WE DO NOT GUARANTEE THAT RESULTS ARE ACCURATE, COMPLETE OR CURRENT, OR THAT THE APP WILL BE AVAILABLE OR ERROR-FREE.
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, WE ARE NOT LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES, LOST PROFITS, EQUIPMENT DAMAGE, FAILED INSPECTIONS, PERSONAL INJURY OR PROPERTY DAMAGE ARISING FROM USE OF THE APP. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM IS LIMITED TO THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US IN THE 12 MONTHS BEFORE THE CLAIM, OR CAD $50 IF YOU PAID NOTHING.
You agree to cover us for claims, losses and costs (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your work, your use of the app, or your breach of these terms.
We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms. You may stop using the app at any time.
We may update these terms. We will post the new date here and, for important changes, notify users by email or an on-site notice. Continued use after that means you accept the changes.
These terms are governed by the laws of Alberta and the federal laws of Canada that apply there. Any dispute will be heard in the courts at Calgary, Alberta.
If any part of these terms is found invalid, the rest stays in force. These terms and the Privacy Policy are the whole agreement between you and us about HVAC Lens.
